Now the candidates for the heads of the village will be able to nominate parties from among their members, or a person can propose his candidacy by self-nomination, having collected at least one percent of the signatures of the number of voters of the corresponding district. If the parties do not offer their candidate or there are no self-nominated candidates, then the candidates will be nominated by the heads of districts.
The elections must be announced 40 days before they start, and they will be held 10 days before the expiration of the term of office of the current president.
The nomination of candidates is proposed to begin on the day after the announcement of the election and to be completed 15 days before the election day. That is, the duration of the nomination period can reach 14 days. A citizen of Kazakhstan who is at least 25 years old, has a higher education and has worked in the civil service for at least one year and at least two years in senior positions of organizations that are not state bodies, can apply for the post of head of state.
Changes were also made to the norm to reduce the threshold for the passage of political parties in the elections to the Mazhilis from 7% to 5% of the vote the number of voters who took part in the voting.
