Friendship of peoples - a symbol of unity

One of the most important initiatives of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy N. A. Nazarbayev, brilliantly implemented, was the creation of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan – a public institution that plays a significant role in ensuring peace, harmony and tolerance in our country.
Friendship of peoples - a symbol of unity

The Assembly of People of Kazakhstan is a unique model of Kazakhstan's unity.
The importance and necessity of creating a public institution on ethnic issues, which provides a real opportunity for all ethnic groups of Kazakhstan to actively participate in the political life of the state, was determined by the multinational composition of the population of the republic. Independent Kazakhstan is a multinational state, where representatives of more than 150 ethnic groups live. The ethnic composition of the population of Kazakhstan is extremely diverse. Representatives of almost all ethnic groups on the world map live here. The Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan guarantees the comprehensive development of all nations and citizens, the creation of equal and decent conditions for life and work. As the First President of Kazakhstan – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev has repeatedly noted in his speeches: "The Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan are two great values that have become the foundation of stability, modernization and prosperity."
In the first days of May, Kazakhstan celebrates one of the kindest and brightest holidays – the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Kazakhstan. This is a holiday of friendship, understanding and harmony. In 1996, the First President of Kazakhstan – Elbasy, Nursultan Nazarbayev, signed a decree that reflected the most important strategic component of the life of the state – the desire for unity and peaceful coexistence of various ethnic groups, for which Kazakhstan has become a country of residence, and May 1 was declared the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan.
In our city, as in many cities, there are many nationalities. No holiday is held without the participation of our ethno-cultural centers. There are several of them in the city. One of them is the Slavic ethno-cultural center, which is headed by the director of the House of Culture Konstantin Nesterov. The main goal of the ethno-cultural center is to preserve the culture, language and identity of the Slavs, strengthen inter-ethnic harmony and well-being of all ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan, strengthen stability and harmony between the peoples of our country. The activities of the center are very diverse. Within the framework of the cultural center, there are: the theater-studio "Edelweiss", the folk ensemble" Nadezhda", the club" At the Samovar", the vocal ensemble of veterans" Vozrozhdenie", the clubs" White Dew "and"Sudarushka".
Not only children, but also adults participate in the creative work of the center. They study the culture and traditions of the Russian people and try to convey them in their speeches. They learn folk songs and dances and perform with them at city and school events. At city exhibitions, embroidery, knitting, and wood carving patterns are always shown.
All the peoples of Kazakhstan contribute to the well-being of the country. The multinational people and their culture are the heritage and the main wealth of the Republic of Kazakhstan. On Unity Day, everyone remembers that the well-being, peace and order in the country depend on the contribution of each and every one of us. And not only peace and harmony, but also the prosperity of our common Homeland depends on the extent to which people strive to understand, perceive openly, in a kind way, and take an interest in each other's national characteristics. Friendship between peoples and their unity is the key to the unity of any country, and even more so such a unique one as Kazakhstan. And it is precisely the diversity and harmony of ethnic groups that has influenced the formation of the state in the international arena and its development for many years.
On April 28, Nur-Sultan hosted the XXIX session of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan. "The Assembly of People of Kazakhstan should be close to the President as a support. Therefore, I decided to transfer the right to head the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. I am convinced that today's decision will serve the interests of the Assembly, and will help our President to build in unison all the current work and plans for the future of our citizens, our society and our state," said the First President of Kazakhstan – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev. In turn, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed to assign the status of Honorary Chairman of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan to Nursultan Nazarbayev.
– I appeal to you, dear Elbasy Nursultan Abishevich, with a request to accept our common offer to become the Honorary Chairman of the Assembly. This status rightfully belongs to you because of your historical services to our people and state. I am sure that all members of the Assembly will support this proposal, " the Head of State said.
