There are also a number of places that are forced to close on weekends or limit opening hours when the region moves to the yellow or red zone. As an alternative to the complete closure of the above-mentioned business facilities and for the partial lifting of restrictions, the Ashyq project was launched. The mobile application "Ashyq" was developed by a domestic IT company on the order of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Due to the integration of the mobile application with the general database of the Ministry of Health, the visitor's status is determined: whether he is currently a carrier of the virus or not. That is, the business entity participating in the project provides additional control to the already taken sanitary measures (masks, thermometry, ventilation, etc.). Since the risks of infection of guests and staff are significantly reduced, the project will allow optimizing quarantine restrictions for businesses and the public in the future. The QR code is assigned only to business entities.
According to the new decree of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Almaty region Yergali Sydymanov No. 11 dated April 24, 2021 "On restrictive measures and implementation of the Ashyq project in the territory of Almaty region", which entered into force on April 26, entrepreneurs are allowed to work using the Ashyq application.

The "Ashyq" application is very easy to use: you need to download the "Ashyq" mobile application to your phone, log in by phone number, enter the IIN. (The data is not transferred anywhere and remains in the application profile. According to the entered data, the user's status is checked when scanning the QR code). At the entrance to the institution, you need to scan the QR code of the institution to register your visit. The screen will display the status (blue, green, red, or yellow). When you exit – you need to scan the QR code to record your exit.
Green status – the visitor is marked in the database as having passed PCR testing with a negative result for COVID-19; Blue status – no results of PCR testing, not listed as a contact; Yellow status-marked in the database as a contact; Red status-registered in the database with a positive result for COVID-19.
