Control your pension savings!

Do I need to track contributions in my Individual Pension Saving Account (IPSA)? How often should this be done and how?

The UAPF on an ongoing basis recommends that its contributors (beneficiaries) monitor the status of their pension savings in the IPSA, including paying attention to the timely receipt from the employer of 10% of the compulsory pension contributions withheld from your salary to your IPSA in the UAPF. Unfortunately, there are cases when the employer does not fulfill or does not fulfill its obligations in full. Therefore, it will not be superfluous to systematically check the state of pension savings in your IPSA.

Obtaining a statement from the IPSA is a legally enshrined right of contributors (beneficiaries) and it can be obtained in the following ways:

• electronic:

- via e-mail to the address provided in the UAPF;

- through a personal account;

• in case of personal appeal directly to the UAPF office;

• through postal services.

Today, the most popular way to obtain information about pension savings is an electronic method through a personal account. As of November 1, 2022, about 6.4 million people preferred the opportunity to receive an extract from an individual pension account 24/7 from anywhere in the world through a personal account on the UAPF website or in the BZhZK / UAPF mobile application.

The digitalization of pension services is one of the important areas in the Fund's activities. For example, in 2014 (the period when the transfer of all pension assets to the UAPF was completed), just over 330 thousand people used this method of obtaining information on savings. Consequently, today the number has increased by almost 20 times.

As of November 1, 2022, for 3.2 million contributors and beneficiaries, the method of informing is defined as when contacting the UAPF offices in person. These statistics are replenished from accounts that are opened automatically in the UAPF and at the same time, the method of informing “personal appeal” is determined by default. You can change it in your personal account on the enpf.kz website using an EDS or by visiting any branch office of the UAPF, or one of the 376 branches of Kazpost JSC, where you can conclude an agreement to change the method of informing.

More than 750,000 people have opted to receive their IPSA statement by email. Recall that if this method of informing is available, the contributor (beneficiary) has the opportunity to independently send the IPSA statement to his email address registered in the UAPF database, an unlimited number of times through the electronic service on the enpf.kz website.

Treasured envelopes with the IPSA statements are still waiting for about 1 million people. In 2014, their number was about 4 million.

At the same time, we would like to remind those who have chosen to be informed by mail that, according to the current pension legislation, contributors (beneficiaries) are required to inform the UAPF of all changes that affect the fulfillment of their obligations by the UAPF.

Therefore, UAPF asks to report changes in a timely manner:

- e-mail address (in case of choosing the method of informing “by e-mail (e-mail)”);

- postal address (in case of choosing the method of informing "by postal service").

If this is not done in a timely manner, for example, an envelope with the IPSA statement, sent to you at the old address, will be returned to the UAPF, which, in turn, has the right, in accordance with pension legislation, not to send the statement for the next year.
